JUNE 18: GLASS FUSING FUN

Class Description: This class will explain basic fusing techniques, types of glass, the difference between glass kilns vs. ceramic kilns and glass molds that are used in the kiln. You will learn about glass compatibility and firing schedules for fusing and slumping. Students will create a 6" piece that can be formed into a bowl, plate or suncatcher. We will also make smaller pieces for jewelry items such as pendants, earrings and bracelets. Class activities may include cutting and grinding glass so we do not recommend this class for small children. Your creations will be kiln fired and ready to pick up in approximately 7-10 days.
Safety: Closed toe shoes are required. Safety glasses should be worn and will be provided. Long hair must be tied back while using grinders.
Additional Info:
You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages. We will take breaks as needed throughout the session.

- Standing while working
- Gripping, holding and applying steady pressure with hand tools
- Reading ruler measurements, draw steady lines to guide cutting tools
